What’s Inside A chemar?

The Chemar is a dual-compartment wooden box, beautifully carved and painted:

  • Left Side: Filled with roasted barley flour mixed with butter and sugar.

  • Right Side: Filled with Dro-ma (wheat or roasted barley grains).

  • The Decorations: It is often adorned with Tse-dro (colorful butter sculptures) and ears of wheat, representing a prayer for a successful harvest in the coming year.
